Who I Am

Our website address is: http://domlepen.com. This website is maintained by Dominée LePen.

What personal data I collect and why I collect it

Comments

When you leave comments on the site, the data shown in the comments form is collected, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Contact forms

If you use this site’s contact form to reach out to me, the minimum you need to provide is your email address so I can get back to you. You can choose to provide a name also. This information is not stored on the website but will rather live in my personal inbox.

Newsletter

If you sign up to receive my newsletter, you provide your email address and can provide your name. This information is solely used to deliver the newsletter to your inbox. After signing up, you will first receive a confirmation email to verify your email address. You personal information provided for receiving the newsletter is not shared with third parties. Any newsletter includes an option to unsubscribe and a reminder that you opted in via this website.

Patreon

This wesite uses Patreon features. In order to enable you to use this website with Patreon services, the site saves certain functionally important Patreon information about you if you log in with Patreon.

These include your Patreon user id, Patreon username, your first, last names and your vanity name. Additionally, the id of your campaign at Patreon and your campaign’s Patreon URL are also saved.

If you request that your data be deleted from this website, this data will also be deleted and Patreon functionality will not work. You would need to register on this website and log in to this website with Patreon again in order to re-populate this data and have Patreon functionality working again.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on my site you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, a temporary cookie will be set to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, this site will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if you had visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

Who I share your data with

How long I retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on this website, the personal information they provide in their user profile is stored. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data about you, including any data you have provided. You can also request that I erase any personal data about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where I send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

This website is based within Europe. Where data is transferred outside of the EU, for example to the United States in the case of Google Analytics, it is anonymized. The external service I use to deliver the email newsletter is MailChimp and your information provided for the newsletter lives securely within that service without your information being shared with third parties.

How I protect your data

I do everything I can to make this site and your information as secure as possible. This includes using a firewall to protect the website and the possibility of opting into two-factor-authentication using Google Authenticator for registered site users. However, since no security measures can be 100% secure, users of this site will be notified within 72 hours of any data breach.
